Can Uber/Lyft make an extra stop

We would like to take Uber from FLL to cruise port but make a stop to pick up a couple of packs of sodas.   Has anyone ever asked their driver to make an extra stop?  We would of course pay them extra.  We’ve taken Ubers frequently but have never needed an extra stop.  Wasn’t sure of the policy.

You can arrange multiple stops through the app.
