ck53 Posted February 28, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 28, 2006 We have cruised before on other lines and this is our first cruise on Carnival (12/31/06) We have an aft cabin w/ another couple adjacent to us. Does anyone know if the steward can open the glass partition between the two balconies? Thanks!
kodiac Posted February 28, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 28, 2006 Yes, the partition can be opened depending on what cabin you have. What cabin do you have and on what ship? You can check with your TA or PVP to make sure these open.
Smasher Posted February 28, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 28, 2006 Depends on the ship. But yes, they'll do it. We did this on our recent trip on the Pride. Be advised: they open the door, swing it out to the rail and lock it in place. You can't close it after that time. And since it swings toward the bow of the ship, it reduces the view from the balcony closest to the bow. Not a big deal, but our friends noted that their ocean view from the cabin was worse than ours because of this.

serene56 Posted February 28, 2006 #5 Share Posted February 28, 2006 On Spirit class ships you need to see a pursers desk to get partitions opened. Othewr class ships the cabin steward can open it
mrdood Posted February 28, 2006 #6 Share Posted February 28, 2006 ...do you really want Ed, to be able to walk out on his balcony and stare into your room when the Mrs. is not dressed properly - - ;) If you want to share, invite them over - you will lose privacy by opening! Deb&Bert Posted February 28, 2006 #7 Share Posted February 28, 2006 We always OPEN them.. On the Glory 4 weeks ago we had 14 balcony's in a row.. We opened them ALL!! It was Wonderful. We spend alot of time. And just so you know if you close your drapes You can NOT see IN SIDE... And not all ships open. You can call Carnival and they will let you know. I know Destiny, Truimp, GLory, Victory, Conquest ALL DOES Iknow for sure the Pride, don't for sure.
