In room safes

Can anyone tell me how the safes work? Do they have keys or do you need to use something with a magnetic strip to activate it. My sister cruised with Carnival and that is how theirs worked.

I can't imagine that Legend of the Seas is any different from any other RCCL ship, but the Legend used anything with a magnetic strip. We would occasionally change "cards" in the interest of safety.

On Voyager we had to enter a 4 digit code. Just had to be careful, if the safe was left open too long, it reset itself and you needed to renter the code again.

majesty you had to enter a code. sadly my mom was in a cabin on the same floor but opposite end of the ship and her safe was broken. after they worked on it for 4 hours the staff of the ship could not get it fixed. my mom had to keep coming over to my cabin every time she wanted her jewelry, etc.

Our cabin on the Majesty did not have a safe so I can't tell you what it uses. The Brilliance uses the four digit code in the safe.
