Quick review of Carnival Breeze cruise

Just got back from 5 nights on the carnival breeze. We left out of Galveston and visited Progresso and Cozumel.

We had three adults and one child (10) in an interior stateroom. Yes, it was small but for us it worked perfectly. We also spent plenty of time in our room. It’s not for everyone but when looking for a great deal this worked well for us. Our room steward was Ketut and he was awesome. He provided towel animals every day, kept our ice bucket full, removed items I asked to have removed, provided my son a fan, etc. Any time I saw him in the hall way he always asked if there was anything he could do for us. IMO, he was THE BEST crew member ever.

We are in the Saphire MDR every night, usually around 6:30 ish. I would rate the food as being on par with a moderate priced restaurant. Maybe 3 stars. Good, very edible, but nothing spectacular or rave worthy. (Much better than the MDR on RCL Adventure of the Seas in March!) Crew in the MDR were great with special recognition to Edwin and Iputu. They were both exceptional.

My son THOROUGHLY enjoyed Ocean Adventures. Was hard to get him to go there but once he did, he went every minute they were open. Lots of activities and completions with prizes.

Met a lot of wonderful, friendly people. Jasper the cruise director was fantastic. Hoola hoop competition was fun! No bad experiences with unruly kids.

I had the thermal spa pass. It was “ok” but I wouldn’t purchase for the entire cruise length again. The aromatherapy areas weren’t working properly and it was overall just too warm for me. If that’s your thing, you’ll love it. Never a crowd. Honestly, the most crowded was 3-4 people.

Saw two shows. They were entertaining enough but not overly so to where I would rate them as “can’t miss” experiences.

Can’t comment on shore excursions. We got off the boat and did our own thing. Progresso isn’t as “nice” as Cozumel but also isn’t as “expensive” for shopping. I actually liked feeling as though I was experiencing their culture better than a tourist trap. We walked around and enjoyed $1 street tacos and horchata. Lol

Overall I feel the value of the cruise was great (price to experience).

Will be on the Breeze next month.  Have a Cloud 9 cabin booked.  Can I ask why you you rated the thermal spal "ok"  and wouldn't purchase for the entire cruise lenght again ?

Glad you enjoyed the Breeze. I agree with you ob Progresso. I was there last month and thoroughly enjoyed walking the streets there. Way cheaper beer and food than Cozumel.

Where is a good place to eat? I've never been to Progresso but going in November.
