Using Gift Cards

Hi all! I realize getting an answer to this may be a stretch, but I thought I'd give it a try. It's my understanding that you can only use up to $1,000 in gift cards for payment per reservation. I had booked an early 2022 cruise, and used gift cards to pay for a portion of it, but we ended up canceling and using the FCC to rebook for 2023. My question is, since it's a new reservation, does anyone know if I can use gift cards again, or if the limit carries over from the previous reservation?
