Sorry! Another Dress Code question for men

Hi, How about men wearing dinner jackets aboard Celebrity? Are they out

of vogue? I miss seeing smashing dinner jackets on formal occasions. My hubby would never go for a tuxedo on formal nights aboard ship. He still won't. He feels more comfortable in a dinner jacket or dark suit. In years past he has owned a few dinner jackets.

 

One was in a silk, deep burgundy.It was a smasher. He'd wear a bow tie or regular tie with a windsor knot. Then he had a midnight blue one with black lapels. He wore both with fine serge black trousers. He now has a black and deep gray,speckled silk one. They are still available to buy in men's stores, but the selection is limited. Also, rental stores still offer them.

He wears his occasionally to a formal wedding reception and other such after five, dressy affairs. It's a change from his dark suit. He always gets compliments both from men and women. It's always special for a lady to be on the arm of a man in a tuxedo or smashing dinner jacket.

The part that says Evening dress codes apply to main restaurant dining is to differentiate main restaurant from speciality and casual dining where the dress code is different. It does not limit the dress code to that time period. That's why it's called Evening dress code.

 

The ship daily still says:

 

Casual Dining Boulevard: The dress code is casual every day. Although in all other areas the dress code of the evening applies.

 

This was the case on our 12/05 cruise. Casual dining has been around for some years now. Nothing has changed.
