shorton Posted October 13, 2022 #1 Share Posted October 13, 2022 I read that an e-visa for Turkey is not required if you're entering the country by sea. But I assume it's needed if you're doing a post-cruise stay or departing Turkey by air. Am I correct?
MikeyB Posted October 13, 2022 #2 Share Posted October 13, 2022 Yes, you are correct. Since you are departing Turkey by air, you will need one. The E-visas were very easy to obtain.
shorton Posted October 13, 2022 Author #3 Share Posted October 13, 2022 Thanks, MikeyB. E-visas were indeed easy to obtain. Looking forward to a wonderful Med cruise, our first with Viking.
MikeyB Posted October 14, 2022 #4 Share Posted October 14, 2022 I should have added (but you didn't ask) that if you are staying in Istanbul, post cruise- do not worry about getting Turkish Lira. Between a credit card (with no foreign transaction fee) and American dollars you will make out fine. I had an amazing exchange rate of 12 to 1 less than a year ago. It is now 18.5 to 1. The Dollar is appreciated.
