suefrankw Posted October 25, 2022 #1 Share Posted October 25, 2022 Hello we are visiting New Orleans on a ship that will dock in NOLA on Monday for 2 nights, Tuesday being Mardi Gras. For those that live close or have been here during this time, your insights on a few things: * on Monday and Wednesday is it reasonable to expect we can do some touring of the city areas or will the crowds be maxed out on those days as well? I know it is a busy time and sightseeing as usual may be limited. * do the restaurants stay open during these days? * suggestions for gluten free eating in the area? any suggestions are appreciated... jgmpuma Posted October 27, 2022 #2 Share Posted October 27, 2022 Monday is a fairly ordinary day until late evening, when the parades start. Most French Quarter restaurants open, but check with those along the parade route. Most also have gluten-free dishes. Ash Wednesday is like any other day.
