Anyone ever rented a room at resort for the day?

It seems like day passes are limited and that the beach situation is tight on busy port days?  Has anyone just gone ahead and rented a room at a resort to gain access for the day?

You would want a place with a decent beach, which counts out all the southern ones on Seven Mile Beach.

 

I picked a random day in February 2023, to give you an idea...

 

Cheapest rooms  in US $ at
Westin - $930
Kimpton - $1,139

Ritz - $1,129

Sunshine Suites (isn't on the beach but you have access to the Westin Beach) - $734

I think that puts it out of the price range for most visitors.

The Marriot has zero beach, and no other hotels are beachfront.

When we first started cruising (20 years ago) we did this at the Westin.  They had a special "day room' rate back then that was less than $200.  Not sure if they are still doing that - assuming it would probably be double that today if they were - but perhaps worth a call.
