Do they ALWAYS call for rain in the Caribbean?

I'm so depressed. The 10 day forecast for every island (Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, Dominica, Barbados, Aruba) I'll be at next week, is calling for RAIN. Do they always forecast rain for the Caribbean islands? Or is this just a really bad 2 week period? I guess I'd better pack my umbrella. icon_frown.gif

Trust me. Chuck that forecast right out the window.

The week of 5/9 on our Victory cruise, they called for rain EVERY SINGLE DAY, and you know what? We didn't see a drop.

Don't worry about it, and as they say in Jamaica, it's just a short spell of liquid sunshine!

rain in the tropics is differant then other places.

It usually rains every day, but usually it is a quick passing shower in the late afternoon or evening, may last less then an hour then it is over.

It's just like Florida. In the warmer months, it rains at 3:00 every afternoon for less than an hour. You can just about set your watch by it. Between the heat and humidity, the water has got to come down sometime. It actually is a nice break and cool down. This is a great time to get your favorite drink and relax so don't worry! Enjoy!

Thank you for calming my fears! I've been checking the weather at weather.com. After all of this rain we've had in Michigan (non-stop rain for 2 weeks, with tons of flooding), I associate rain with 24 hours of gray skies and miserable weather.

Thank you cruisecritic.com buddies for cheering me up! icon_cool.gif
