Fun Loving Posted March 9, 2006 #1 Share Posted March 9, 2006 We are torn between these two activities. We are going to do one in Costa Maya and one in Cozumel and want opinions on which one to do where. PLEASE HELP:) Would appreciate any recommendations (which one, where to go, which company to use)! Thank you!!
sunryz710 Posted March 10, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 10, 2006 Hi there, I went to Costa Maya on my last cruise. It was the cutest mexican beach village. We took a cab from the pier to the village of Mahaul (not sure on spelling) It was lined with shops and the beach was beautiful.. there were several bars and restaurants on the beach.. massages... canoes.. etc.. You can enter the beach at leisure.... be sure to bring a towel or something to sit on.. If I could go back I would.. it actually was one of my favorite little towns.. It's quaint.. and you feel like you are away in a nother country.. not americanized.. I vote to check it out!! Dawn
MSUcruiser Posted March 11, 2006 #3 Share Posted March 11, 2006 We had the dune buggy package reserved with a deposit when we realized you have to drive a stick -- not very familiar and we were not comfortable. Long story, XStreme will not refund the deposit so we are out $150.00! I would be very hesitant to book with them because of this "no refund" on the deposit. Canada-Cruiser Posted March 19, 2006 #4 Share Posted March 19, 2006 We recently wre in Cozumel and went on a dune buggy excursion that was absolutely amazing. It was through a company called Island Marketing http://cozumelcruiseexcursions.com/CozumelDuneBuggyTour.htm and yes you have to be able to drive a stick. We snorkled, we had a lunch prepaired while we swam in the ocean and saw an amazing amout of a truly beautiful island of cozumel. I would recommend to any one...;)

andynlala Posted March 24, 2006 #6 Share Posted March 24, 2006 We just did the dune buggies last week in Cozumel. It was a blast! We booked through Cozumel Homes. If you go to the beach in Majahual, go all the way down tot he end. There were ALOT less people there.
