Does AMA still have the Cruise Director start with the pre-cruise group, stay through the cruise and the post-cruise extension?  You must have gotten to know him/her very well!!!

Yes, they do which I really like.  I became friends with our cruise director and have stayed in touch with her.  I know there are many cruise lines to choose from (we're sailing with Avalon next year since Ama doesn't do the Amazon), but one of the reasons we have loved our Ama cruises is how friendly/helpful/welcoming/fun the crew members have been.  It's the little things they do that make you feel like family that have made our cruises so memorable. 🙂
