MrLee Posted March 10, 2006 #1 Share Posted March 10, 2006 I'm a bit confused. I've only sailed Carnival and HAL where I could include tips on my card and forget about it (except those I wanted to tip extra). If I'm reading the messages here right, they give you something to put into an envelope which you are then expected to pass on to the staff. Although we always tip, we frequently don't eat in the dining room. Do we have to go and try to hunt up a waiter, asst. etc to tip (which we may not even recognize) or does the fact that we left the money get to them even if they don't physically get the envelope? I certainly don't want to leave them out as it's not their fault (usually but lets not go there) if I choose to eat elsewhere and I know how important tips are to their total salary. chessbriar Posted March 10, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 10, 2006 They will give you a card part way through the cruise. You can request to have the tips put on your account and given to the staff.
Fblack Posted March 10, 2006 #3 Share Posted March 10, 2006 RCL lets you put tips on a credit card and gives you a paper to give to the crew member. The crew member is paid either way. You do not have to give them them the paper.
