anniversary while sailing...???

my PVP told me to let the maitre'd know that it was our anniversary (on the appropriate night) and they'd "do something special". can someone please reassure me it's not one of the $10 nasty cakes or some embarassing "gather round and sing along" drama? :eek:

Sorry to burst your bubble. That's what we got two years ago, enjoyed every minute of it (this was before there was a charge for the cakes, though).

Yep, that's about it. Simple solution: If you don't want the singing waiters - be sure and NOT mention your anniversary.

We celebrated out anniversary on the Miracle Feb 14th (yep, Valentine's Day).

 

Nothing from Carnival. Our children ordered us an anniversary cake to be served at dinner that night but we celebrated in Nick and Nora's. Somehow the cake showed up on the 13th, the day before, at dinner and the wait staff sang that wonderful "Hoppy Versary" (that's exactly what it sounded like--at first I thought they were singing happy birthday!!).

 

Then, on Valentine's day another chocolate anniversary cake showed up in our cabin...don't know why we got two. I do have to say both cakes were very good, but then, I love anything chocolate!

 

I had ordered the anniversary decorations for the cabin as a "joke" gift to my hubby...he actually loved them! A wall hanging, a decoration hanging from the ceiling and a decoration thingy on the vanity area, Also there were 2 decent Carnival key chains left on the vanity next to the decorations.

 

Sorry, nothing for free except the "hoppy versary" song. Really though, it was fun. Almost every night someone was getting sung to. Birthday and "versary"!

Thanks, Lynn, for sharing your anniversary pics. We'll be celebrating our 25th on the Liberty this Aug. and I'd wondered if Carnival had anything for the occassion. The decorations s are rather charming!
