transfers from Venice airport to ship

I will be dropping off my rental car at Venice Marco Polo airport.

 

Does MSC provide a free shuttle service from there?

MSC do run a shuttle bus to and from Venice airport. I suspect there may be a charge if you didn't book an all in package. We flew in last September but were given transfer vouchers as part of the cruise pack.

My travel agent looked into that for me a few weeks ago but it would appear that they just don't offer it. Sorry!:rolleyes:

You'll can get the bus from the airport to Piazalle Roma for about €3 and from there Msc run a free shuttle bus to the port about every half hour - it really isn't far, but beyond walking distance. P. Roma also has car rental offices so maybe you could arrange to drop the car there?

I would prefer to drop the car off at Piazzale Roma, but I've been told it is closed, as they are on vacation. I dropping the car off on 10th Sept. and the only place I can drop off that day is the airport.

 

Can you tell me which bus number to catch?

Sorry don't have numbers. There were two buses directly opposite the airport exit. One did the rounds on the mainland before going on to Venice (this was included on the Venice card I purchased), run by ACTV taking about 30 mins; the other, more a coach really, run by ATVO is direct for about €2.70. Tickets are available from the arrivals hall, maybe from the driver too(?) and need to be stamped on the bus.

Which ship are you on? I was on the Opera, which the Musica is sailing this year. I have friends who have been on the Armonia and they enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed my trip.
