TheHappyWanderer Posted March 12, 2006 #1 Share Posted March 12, 2006 it is difficult to judge cabin sizes, even when representative square footage is included. we will be on the newly-re-fitted Century this summer in a CC verandah cabin. it is my understanding that the room will substantially remain the same, and the verandahs added to the outside of the ship. we have been on the Mercury, and it seemed to us that the cabins were quite small in comparision with Princess and Disney. is that perception correct? ocngypz Posted March 12, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 12, 2006 I can't speak as to Disney, but vis a vis Princess, Celebrity standard balcony rooms are larger. Princess standard balcony rooms are 160-165 sq ft. Celebrity's 170-175 (170 Millennium class). On the refitted Century, CC on penthouse deck (side facing) are 172 sq ft. Aft on Vista, 175 sq ft. Princess minisuites are larger than Celebrity Sky Suites (interior space). All sqft refer to interior space, ie.. not including balcony space.. which varies greatly on Princess ships. Desertbelle Posted March 12, 2006 #3 Share Posted March 12, 2006 It surely depends on what Princess ship you are comparing the Century balconies to. I have been on the Dawn Princess, which had the smallest balcony I have every had and I have cruised on the Star Princess which had the bigest balcony I have ever had. Here is a site where you can compare ships, cabins and amenities side-by-side. CruiseStateroom Hope this helps.
