First time cruisers need help selecting Majestic Princess Alaska mini suite cabin

My wife and I are first time cruisers heading to Alaska in Sept. for 10 days on the MP. Would like to choose our cabin and wanted a deluxe or premium balcony but Princess advised they will assign the room so we are considering a mini suite and would like to have feedback about pros and cons on what are left to choose from. We are celebrating our 46 year anniversary and would like to be on the starboard side of the ship.

Deck 8 E725 or E707 are above the casino. Any noise or smoking issues? Also Deck 8 R223.

Any cabin obstructions on deck 8?

Deck 15 M419,  M231and M321. I know the food market and pool area is above. Much noise or other issues?

Other cabins on Deck 12, A315, Deck 16 L221 and  Deck 14 R321.

We are also considering the Princess Premier package. Any recommendations on other considerations are also greatly appreciated.

Thanks ahead for your knowledge and expertise in providing information to make this an incredible celebration and experience.

@retired2816 Welcome to the land of mini-suites...on Majestic. I sailed on her last week.

We had cabin A515 and the midship location was perfect.

My first sailing on a Royal class ship was quite daunting with the very long hallways. Midship location is my preference on this ship. You can easily head to the elevators both forward and aft ones to avoid the busier ones at midship during the peak times. Of all of the cabins that you listed, I would choose A315.

We also went with the Premium package this time.

If you a wine drinker, you will appreciate the better wines at the $20 price point. Be sure to try the wines at Vines. My favourite hangout.

As a first time cruiser, you will enjoy the photo package that is included. Be sure to watch for the photographers every evening and heading out to ports and on the seawalk for photo ops. You will get all the photos for downloading at the end of your cruise. Check in at the photo gallery, on the computers to see that ALL of the photos are being downloaded into your account as you go along.

I highly recommend a specialty restaurant on the first night of your cruise, to avoid the chaos in the MDR on the first night. We loved THE CATCH so much, we went twice. It was brand new on May 5th. Oh yes, with the premium package, you will also have two specialty dinners included.

I hope my suggestions here are helpful to you. Best wishes for you to have an incredible celebration and experience on your first cruise. Bon Voyage!

Juice bar with fresh juices at the Wakeview bar - in the mornings. Cheers!
