Rare jrphotog Posted August 15, 2023 #1 Share Posted August 15, 2023 (edited) We have a 2.15pm boarding time this Sunday for Arvia. We’re driving down from London so thought it would be good to have lunch somewhere close by beforehand (was thinking of waiting till we get on the ship but by that time the kids will be ravenous). Could anyone recommend restaurants with easy parking that are on the way and relatively close to Ocean terminal? Thanks all, first time cruisers here, nervously excited!! P.s. what time would you recommend arriving for CPS parking? Edited August 15, 2023 by jrphotog
Rare John Bull Posted August 15, 2023 #2 Share Posted August 15, 2023 For free parking, since you're coming down the M3 try The Cowherds on Southampton Common. At the split at the end of the M3 take the M27 in either direction then very shortly take the ramp left signed "Southampton A33". After two roundabouts & one major set of lights look for the pub set back behind its carpark on the right. Still 2 - 3 miles from the terminal, but only two cruise ships and little city traffic that day and its outside the restricted parking area. For cheapest parking (£1 for 2 hours) close to Ocean terminal head for Mayflower Park, which overlooks City cruise terminal. Follow signs for Waterfront, then Ferries. https://goo.gl/maps/witfL4FXFactzqKQ8 Turn off as if taking the Red Funnel ferry, signed IoW ferries, then immediately right into the park. Several eateries nearby - Kuti's (Indian) at the entrance, Dancing Man pub directly opposite. or Duke of Wellington 100yards up the road beside Dancing Man (Bugle Street). or turn right along Town Pier for Ennios (Italian) and La Regata (Spanish) or a little further along, Platform Tavern. Because it's sunday lunch-time, check opening hours & seriously consider booking. JB 🙂
