digitcallous Posted June 8, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 8, 2004 I think my children would love to see the ice sculptures and fancy carving made out of watermelons, cheese and you-name-it. My question is whether the only time they do that is at the midnight buffet. If it is I don't think my kids can stay up that late to be able to see them. And is the midnight buffet only on one of the nights? DC
Cotton Posted June 8, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 8, 2004 There is a 'late night' buffet every evening, beginning at 11:30 or 12. There is ONE "Gala Buffet" on every cruise. I believe it opens at 11:30 for photos, then at midnight to enjoy the beautifully prepared food. Sorry, but maybe the kiddies could stay up just for that one night? It's spectacular! Oh, and by the way, there is usually an ice carving demonstration sometime during the day. Check your "Capers" for the time. I think that would interest them! "Laissez les bon temps rouler!" Cotton Posted June 9, 2004 #5 Share Posted June 9, 2004 Kap ~ LOTS of beautifully prepared food! For instance, frosted & decorated hams, sliced meats, homemade fancy bread varieties, herbed & molded butter, chocolate strawberries, gateau, pastries, hundreds of different desserts - oh the list is just too long to mention everything. I'll say this...if you've never experienced the Gala Buffet, you really have to see it to believe it! Take your camera (I think the Gala Buffet opens at 11:30 for photos) - your non-cruising friends will NOT believe the fantastic array of so much gourmet food without proof! kapcruiser Posted June 9, 2004 #6 Share Posted June 9, 2004 Cotton - thank you - now I really can't wait to see it. We have late dining, so I don't know how hungry we will be. I hope we get the 8:00 seating. That would be the best for our family. Just have to wait and see. Inspiration - August 2004
Cotton Posted June 9, 2004 #7 Share Posted June 9, 2004 Ah, come on now - I bet you could eat just one or two teeny bites of something tasty off the buffet! "Laissez les bon temps rouler!"
