Well, I'm not going to stop looking then, thy have to be around somewhere. Thanks for letting me know and giving me hope that one of my essential cruise items is still out there somewhere! icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_smile.gif

So glad to hear that there are others who do laundry on a cruise. I've assuredly been in the minority when it's been posted. On our March 2003 Triumph cruise, we basically got $10 worth of quarters at the casino. I purchased Tide laundry detergent (powder) in the vending machine in the laundry room. There were two dryers and two washers along with a big sink for hand washing items. In addition, there was an iron and ironing board. I thought the iron was great. Nice and heavy with steam. It was on a timer so that it wouldn't be left on. We did laundry an afternoon in port and it was empty. There was some laundry in one of the dryers but I just took it out and put in in the basket on top of the dryer. We did two loads and used both washers at the same time. Came back 45 minutes later and dried them. It was wonderful. No stinky laundry! I have a pet peeve about dirty laundry on vacations, so a Carnival cruise is great for us. The $12 laundry special isn't a great deal (I think). It's a very tiny bag...probably enough room for underwear, a t-shirt, etc. We spent less than $10 for detergent and two loads of wash and dry. The line for the iron was not long...I guess I timed it perfectly. The formal nights it was long. I tried to iron our things each morning which seemed to be a quiet time.

Are there washers and dryers on each floor? We are going on the Sensation (we'll be on the Upper deck) in July and possibly will want to do some laundry.Thanks.

Well, this thread still hasn't even tempted me to do any laundry on the cruise, but I was very interested to find out about irons being available. Last cruise laundry was included with our cabin which was nice, but this year, I'll bring dirty clothes home and enjoy a week without laundry as well as no ruined clothes. HAL ruined (and paid for) a new pair of khaki (not delicate in the least) shorts, and I'd packed only 2 in my quest to keep it light. They ran the zipper through the ironing machine which destroyed it.

It costs quite enough to take our family of 5 on a cruise, and I'm not going to spend any of that precious time doing a task that needs attention daily at home. That's why our luggage has wheels. lol! However, with kids along, we might have an unexpected need to do wash, and I'm not likely to entrust it to the laundry service onboard. If it's so precious it needs immediate attention, it's too precious for them to mame.

Not on each floor, maybe every third floor. Check your deck plan that they hand you when you board the ship or ask at the purser's desk. It will also tell you in the directory you'll find in your room that lists the ship's amenities, phone numbers, and room service menu.
