More interestingly, watch when you enter and leave ports of call. Look for the floating buoys--the ones on the right of the ship in the channel as you leave port will be green, the ones on the left will be red; and there may be a black and white buoy defining midchannel if ships can pass in two lanes. The saying is "Red Right Returning", meaning the red buoy is on the right when you return to harbor. (Almost said "when you return to port"--but that's a whole different meaning.)
