StaceyM Posted June 11, 2004 #27 Share Posted June 11, 2004 Okay folks, just got off the phone with Carnival. They said that on a 7 day cruise, thye would be holding 300.00 per person for the duration of the cruise. I asked if it was the same for children. They said that if you do not "activate" their sign and sail card for purchases then you would not have to put down the money for them. Hope this helps. TomD Posted June 11, 2004 #28 Share Posted June 11, 2004 Does a 10-year-old need a S&S card? How about a 14-year-old? Or, maybe they should Not have one, just a drink card? Conquest, we will be with you
marklodi Posted June 11, 2004 #29 Share Posted June 11, 2004 TomD, They have to have a Sail & Sign card. This is also their ID on the ship, and the only way they can get on and off the ship in ports. However, you can have the "purchasing" ability of their card turned off, so that no charges can be applied using that card. I would also recommend having those cards punched (either at the Purser's desk or the Casino cashier) so you can place them on a lanyard. More difficult for them to lose that way. serene56 Posted June 12, 2004 #30 Share Posted June 12, 2004 If any monies are left on your sign and sail card you will get a check on the last night it your cabin. You can then cash the check at the pursers desk. I have always used cash on my card. FOr the two of us we placed 600.00 on it and always got money back at the end.
