Safe walk in South Beach?

Just wondering...staying at Miami Beach Marriott at South Beach this Thurs. & Fri. pre-cruise. Wondering if this hotel is a safe walk at night from where all the action is, or, do we need to grab a taxi? Also, any recommendations for breakfast?

Walking at night is no problem. As with traveling anywhere, be aware of your surroundings at all times. We prefer to walk the oceanfront boardwalk at night. It's well lit, patroled by bicycle cops, plenty of people around at the same time.

Breakfast, the Marriott your staying at has a great breakfast. Their eggs benedict are second to none. ;)
