Hawaii697 Posted June 10, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 10, 2004 Can anyone tell me if you miss your seating time at 5:30 (ex.), would you be allowed to sit a later time, say 6:00 (ex)? Thanks for your help with this matter.
Cruisin' Southern Caribbean August 2005
tef43 Posted June 10, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 10, 2004 In general, no. You have an assigned table and an assigned time. If it *does* happen, you can always ask the Maitre'D to see if he can "fit you in." I wouldn't recommend making a regular practice of it. At the worst, there's always alternative dining at the lido buffet. Eleven cruises so far. Up next: Carnival Valor 10/30/05 CC Group Perhaps something else as well. Watch this space. Dance like it hurts, love like you need money, and work when somebody's watching.
Cotton Posted June 10, 2004 #3 Share Posted June 10, 2004 I guess you'd have to ask the Maitre d' about that. They pretty well have the assignments done to fill the dining rooms at your assigned times. Would be kinda a mixed up mess if a lot of folks missed their times. BTW, most ships have 5:45 and 6:15 for early seating, and 8:00 and 8:30 for late. "Laissez les bon temps rouler!" kathyjack Posted June 10, 2004 #4 Share Posted June 10, 2004 I doubt very much whether you'd be able to come at a later time. Tables are usually filled and you'd be at someone elses table when they arrived. I know from past experience, the waiters have to really go into second gear when someone even shows up late. Seems so inconsiderate. If your time is 6:00 - be there no later than 6:00 - or do the pizza or something other than the main dining room for that meal. Hawaii697 Posted June 10, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted June 10, 2004 Thanks for the info. I was a bit confused. I assumed since the first night (not remaining nights) was not assigned seating, it wouldn't be a problem.
Cruisin' Southern Caribbean August 2005
