Silver Moon I was Great!!

Just did the Silver Moon I last week in Barbados and highly recommend this tour. Unlike the cruiseline excursions, you have a maximum of 12 people on a large, very nice catamaran (we only had 10 people on it our day). They constantly provide you with drinks (juice, beer, cokes, rum punch, etc) while you sail along the coast). We went to the sea turtles first, but they told us if it was crowded when we got there we would come back later so we wouldn't be crowded. In the water, we got to see and touch several sea turtles. My best friend was in heaven as she loves turtles. We then sailed further along the coast and anchored for lunch. While lunch cooked, we all swam in the beautiful, crystal clear, blue water. Lunch was great, they offered us a huge spread with several choices. After lunch we went snorkeling at a site with two shipwrecks. As we entered the water, we were surrounded by fish. It was amazing, you could just reach out and touch the fish if you wanted to. After snorkeling, we sailed back to the ship and they offered us cookies and strawberry daiquiris and pina coladas. This was the BEST day!

Totally agree with you wrp96!!!! We were on the Silver Moon last Wednesday, March 15 & it definately lived up to its reputation on these threads. The cat was beautiful, the sailing was thrilling, the lunch was delicious & the swimming/snorkeling was awesome! The turtles were an experience not to be missed. Ben & Tony took such great care of everyone onboard. Definately book this tour on the Silver Moon......made a perfect day !!

This is only my second cruise. Our last cruise we had 3 island stops and just went to beaches and shopping. Since our cruise next month has 5 island stops, we wanted to do an excursion. I have read nothing but rave reviews but since there are 4 of us, it would cost $340 for this. I emailed them yesterday and surprisingly, they do have the room for us so I need to make a decision fast.

Few questions: My girls are 12 and 10 - good excursion for them? They love the water and love to snorkel. Do we need to bring our own snorkel gear? What type of lunch do they provide? And how far away from the pier do you go. They said the excursion ends at 4:00. Just want to make sure we will have plenty of time to get back. Thanks for your feedback.
