I'm consumed with thoughts of my next cruise. I don't know when it will be, but we are thinking of W. Caribben from Port Canaveral. When is the off-season? I need to know when the prices are low. Thank you! Love, Juliah

Try dang near any time that school is NOT out and you'll see a big difference in pricing.

 

September and October are really good as well as January and Feburary

 

In addtion, go to the cruise lines websites and get on their mailing lists for special deals.

Hi Juliah, I agree with the other post'ers. Sept,Dec.(before Xmas) and right after Xmas holidays in January seem to be cheapest. We got a good bargain for our cruise(ISGuarantee for 4= US$1832).In January the weather should be nice too. (Not sure if you are allowed to say the price you paid;altho. I would not know why.)

I agree with all the above, but since September/October is peak hurricane season, that is often when you'll get the best deals. Two years ago, my husband & I paid a grand total of $377 each (including all taxes & port charges) for seven nights on RCI's Enchantment of the Seas. We booked six weeks before the cruise. Hard to pass up deals like that!

Last year my husband and I made the mistake of taking our three kids with us on a cruise. We'll never be able to cruise alone again, they loved it! Now we have to cruise when ALL the dang kids are out of school. March, spring break will be our next. Has anyone heard of prices drops during this time period?

To find the dates for lowest rates, use expedia or orbitz. Select a cruise and click on the link that says something to the effect of "view all dates". I've found Oct. to be lower than Sept. for the most part. Expedia and Orbitz don't have the lowest rates for cruising, but they're a good resource in this instance.

We cruise during the last week of November or the first week of December and always get a great deal. Added bonus is very little kids on board. This is how we can afford a balcony!

My last cruise was the second week of September (hurricane season and the kids are just back in school). We paid $247/pp (including port charges & taxes) for an oceanview on the Fascination. Granted, it was only a four-day but couldn't beat it for a long weekend!

Juiah 67, Most everyone has given you very good advice, You have one major problem though, your husband is a school teacher and any time he is off will be high season for cruise prices. To get a really good cruise price,he will have to take a vacation during the school year, don't know if that is possible. If you check all the cruise prices for the different months , you will find this out. You seem to be as addicted as I was after my first cruise, and I still am 17 years later. There is no cure for it but a cruise. Good Luck.

Jemingway. You are absolutely correct, am now working on raising my third set of kids, have taken them all on cruises during the school year, always got their work before hand, never had a problem. They learn much more on the cruise, than they ever would in class, just my opinion. Will keep spoiling kids as long as I can, hope that means I will still be doing it when I am ninety.

I'm not an expert, but while doing some research, I noticed that the week before major holidays is several hundred dollars cheaper than any week in the summer!! We're going the week before Thanksgiving and saving a bundle. Luckily, we can take the time off work then, etc.

What can be better? pool, slide, 24hr.pizza and lemonade/ice tea, a big ship with lots of things to see,Kids Club etc.!! You are so lucky to live in Florida-close to so many cruises!! Hey Julie...just got back from Vegas..it was fun but weather was miserable..so dry there I got chapped skin all over. I have to say sure was alot of lights and just the buildings and inside decor was amazing..I mean really amazing!! Lexi rode the rollercoaster with her Daddy...Rich thought he was gonna have heart attack on it..Lexi had a blast as usual..me and my Alexander just watched..lol!! I have to say my favorite casino was one off the beaten path..Sunset casino in Henderson..paid well to go there..Mandalay Bay took all my money but got it back at Sunset. If we go back we will stay at that resort. Not saying Mandalay bay isnt gorgeous but the casino was much better for me money and pay out wise! I hit a JP on a game I thought I won 4.23 because I was playing pennies and it ended up being 423.00 I was in shock..lol!! Well I guess I will stop rambling!! Cya onboard a cruiseship soon!!! For Sure!!

I have found that prices really start dropping the week after Labor Day week.

 

As another example, this year, the week after Thanksgiving week is looking real good. I was trying to help a friend look for pricing for Thanksgiving week and am trying to convince her to wait until the next week and they can all save about $200 pp.
