I did this itinerary last year. I did not care for Freeport. Not a lot to do at this island. This is a good ship for a quick weekend get away. I will be back on the Fantasy over the Labor day weekend. I have some photos in my link below that was taken last November just after her multi million dollar refurb.

I agree... mostly - the ship is great but I also enjoyed the itinerary well too when we went in Feb. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Just got back from a 4 day on the Fantasy on Thursday. I love that ship, and I like the itinerary. I like spending 24 hours in Nassau and I like Freeport, but then I lived there for a year back in 1967, so I am kinda partial to it.

The beaches in Freeport/Lucaya are beautiful and you won't find nicer cleaner clearer water anywhere else this close to Stateside.

The Fantasy has been refurbished and is looking very very nice. Plenty to do onboard, excellent food, excellent service and great staff and crew.

It's a really nice shorty cruise and you can get some good sail deals on her.

I've been on Fantasy x 2, most recently last January after the spruced her up.. the beds were so comfy with new duvets and linens, food as good as on the longer cruises, love the sushi every night.. It definitely doesn't "feel like" a lower budget cruise -- meaning Carnival isn't skimping on quality just because it's shorter sailing. I am not fond of the ports to be honest with you but Fantasy and Soverign (and now from Jacksonville) are driving distance and I prefer 4 nights on a ship to four at the beach. Only problem I had was lack of enforcement of smoking policy...hopefully it's been corrected. They have really good rates on this ship at ***** and some of the other online agencies. We got ours on Skyauction -- actually it was a Christmas gift and it was 229 including port charges for January 4-night..

I am going on the 4-day cruise leaving December 12. Glad to hear lots of good things about her. I can't wait. I'm going to eat in the dining rooms and see lots of shows and entertainment, and when I have time, gamble in the casino.

If this is a first cruise it is great but if you have been on bigger newer ships it is a little bit of a let down. We snorkled at both ports and loved it but we missed the relaxing sea days. Have fun You will!! icon_biggrin.gif
