26Martini Posted March 24, 2006 #1 Share Posted March 24, 2006 Looking to book a cruise on the Norwegian Spirit, after researching the net and TA, Expedia came up with the better price, who to use? Has anyone used Expedia or recommend any other site to book without a TA? Any info would be appreciated!!:)
johnql Posted March 24, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 24, 2006 Before this post gets removed, here's CC's guideline regarding TA recommendations: "There shall be no third-party recommendation of travel agencies on any forums within Cruise Critic. General discussions regarding the TYPE of AGENCY to be used to purchase a cruise will be allowed, as long as no recommendations for any source of purchase are posted." newbiefromvancouver Posted March 24, 2006 #4 Share Posted March 24, 2006 We saw a super-low cruise fare on the internet and our local TA contacted NCL and matched the price. I felt more comfortable dealing with someone local.
SomeWoman Posted March 24, 2006 #5 Share Posted March 24, 2006 I booked my cruise via one of the online travel agencies. The cruise is for April 15, though, so I can't yet say if all has turned out well. :^/ I received a reservation number that allowed me to pre-register and sign up for shore excursions on the NCL website, but I have not received any hard copy documents, nor do I know if I will. mkk Posted March 24, 2006 #6 Share Posted March 24, 2006 Just FYI..Always research your fares....through a TA..through the online agencies..then through the cruiseline/airline etc dirrectly..you may be surprised to find the best prices by dealing direct! I've been looking at airfares for an upcoming trip..have been checking out one of the infamous "pay-first then find out who you are flying" sites...then looked up the airlines price on their site and it was $10 cheaper...It varies..I've used them all..it just pays to check all sites out first.
