Brad&Jenny Posted June 14, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 14, 2004 We are going on our honeymoon and have a few questons. We have cruised with Carnival before but always out of the Port of Miami. We arrive in San Juan at 1:30 and the boat doesn't leave port until 10:00. Does anyone know if we can just check our luggage or get on the boat and register then get back off? If so, can you recommend something interesting to do in San Juan for a few hours? We received our passports and were wondering if we also needed to bring our birth certificates. Guess that's all the questions for now accept is anyone else going to be on the Destiny with us? Thanks for the info in advance!!! Joe_Antonelli Posted June 14, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 14, 2004 Hi and congratulations! It's been a while since I've been on the Destiny and a while since I actually departed out of San Juan, but, I do know a few years ago, the answer was yes. We checked in around 2pm, had lunch and then we grabbed a cab and actually had a very nice time touring Old San Juan for ourselves. I'm not an expert on what to see in PR but, if all else fails, stop at the Purser's desk (also known as the shore tours desk) and someone there might be able to make some recommendations. Looking forward to reading other posts as we're going to be in San Juan in December for a holiday cruise on Celebrity Cruise Lines and, we'll be in the same situation. Checking in very early - around noon and not sailing until 11pm. Joe
