Ari & Jacqui Posted June 15, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 15, 2004 Hi all, I was just wondering if you could recommend some drinks (alcoholic, of course) for someone with SEVERE acid reflux. I can't have anything acidic, like orange juice, anything sour, really. I don't really care for rum (unless it's malibu) and never drink beer. Are there any tasty vodka drinks that won't irritate my stomach/heartburn? I'm not a big drinker to begin with, so all suggestions to try something new are welcome!! Oh, everyone seems to talk about jello shots, are those on board?? We make those at home, and are BIG fans! Thanks!! ~J Miracle 6/26!!
tef43 Posted June 15, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 15, 2004 Scotch, single malt, neat. Eleven cruises so far. Up next: Carnival Valor 10/30/05 CC Group Perhaps something else as well. Watch this space. Dance like it hurts, love like you need money, and work when somebody's watching.

mirrajay Posted June 15, 2004 #5 Share Posted June 15, 2004 Vodka and 7Up is always a winner - unless 7Up is considered acidic. Or Malibu and coke. Hmmm...so many drinks, so little time. Carnival Victory, here I come!
JudyKa Posted June 15, 2004 #6 Share Posted June 15, 2004 Miami Vice? I got tired of all the orangey, pineappley juicey drinks of the day (however, they were good for a while)....made my tummy feel acidy too. Sooo, tried the Miami Vice that everyone on here talks about.....GOOD! And...also went back to my rum and coke toward the end. Oh, by the way, all....just got off my Conquest cruise a couple of days ago.....had a BLAST and we were so impressed with Carnival's Conquest...very clean and all kinds of little out-of-the-way restful spots on the decks and all kinds of "party" spots if you were in the mood. Enjoyed the ship experience actually more than the ports experiences. The ports were a nice little land rest; but was ready to board again all three times. Wanna go back! =o) Judy (o=
Ari & Jacqui Posted June 15, 2004 Author #7 Share Posted June 15, 2004 Yum! Great suggestions, especially the banana flavoured drinks! Tef-I cannot stomach scotch...though it's the drink of choice for my dad. He spends a grotesque amount of money for the best scotch he can find, and even has his friends over once a week, where they sample different types of scotch. To each his own, I guess...but I'm going to stick to the foo-foo drinks! Miracle 6/26!!
tef43 Posted June 15, 2004 #8 Share Posted June 15, 2004 Scotch can be a foo-foo drink. Just stick one of those little umbrellas in the glass. Dance like it hurts, love like you need money, and work when somebody's watching.
trishaloo Posted June 15, 2004 #9 Share Posted June 15, 2004 Vanilla flavored vodka and coke. Or can you do cranberry juice or is that too acidic. Cranberry juice and vodka with a twist is one of my summertime favorites.
GoinCruisin Posted June 15, 2004 #10 Share Posted June 15, 2004 I discovered Twilight Zone's onboard... YUM. They were not as sweet as some of the other foo foos, but they had a nice kick Vodka Tonics are always a nice refreshing drink as well... ask for a lime AND an orange wedge, yum.. making me thirsty A Kiss on the Lips was another good one... The Mexican Mama (don't drink too many of these ) was pretty good too... Until the SINsational Cruise from the Bayou!
