Ferrol to Santiago de Compostela

Recommended Posts

We will be docked in Ferrol, Spain on May 10, 2024 from 10 AM to 6 PM and wanted to do a day tour to Santiago de Compostela but can’t seem to find any companies to take us there. Tried SpainDayTours and Tours4Cruisers and both said they don’t have enough people to go. Does anyone know if there are tour companies or taxi drivers at the port that will take you there and back? Thanks.

Hi, on which company are you sailing?

I didn't know Ferrol was a port of call too.

From La Coruña it is not hard to go to Santiago but from Ferrol it is more difficult. There are some trains Ferrol-Madrid that calls in Santiago but not useful for a day visit.

I have found this taxi trade webpage

http://teletaxiferrolterra.es/tarifas/

It seems

1,10 euro/km

14,57 euro/hour waiting

Ferrol-Santiago are 100ish km, so 110 euro (and 110 return)

Asking to wait for 6 hours, it seems, 310 euro a taxi

Thanks for the quick reply alsserod. We’re on the Seabourn Ovation ship. They have tours to Santiago but I was looking for something more reasonably priced. I appreciate the link to the taxi company. I also sent an email to the Ferrol Tourist Office for contacts and am awaiting a reply. If anyone else has ideas, please share them. Thanks.

How many would they need?  Could you ask on your Roll Call if any fellow passengers would be interested in joing the small group?

Sleepingcat - that is great info, thank you for sharing.

edinburgher - I think they need 12. I did post on our Roll Call but got no takers.

I’m still researching options.

Unlucky because an active RC would usually find a few willing to join☹️

I hope you find a different way.
