ILUVHOCKEY Posted May 15 #1 Share Posted May 15 When leaving ship from Civitavecchia. Is there a shuttle from the ship to train station. And how easy it is it travelling with 2 carryon spinners? Any directions, advise and tips? TIA
WilsCM Posted May 15 #2 Share Posted May 15 Yes, there is a shuttle from ship to train - we took it last month. It was crowded (wouldn't count on a seat) but quite a short ride. We paid with a credit card (tap) when boarding. We had a carry-on roller each and a backpack and it was not an issue as long as you can lift on/off the shuttle. Line was right outside the port building and easy to identify. Train station is very small with limited seating/limited food/drink. If going just to Rome, buy your tickets on the first available train when you get to the station using one of the machines - we were going on to Florence and bought tickets ahead of time to take advantage of much less expensive pricing. It would have been a lot easier to just buy tickets on the first train to Rome when we got to the station and guessed at the time to buy a ticket ahead of time from Rome to Florence - we ended up waiting for quite a while at the station in Civitavecchia and would have been more comfortable at Roma Termini.
