Clarkk W Griswald Posted March 26, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 26, 2006 just off serenade 2 weeks ago. We had 9584 & 9586 center hump on deck 9. Great location. Very convienent to the elevators and stairs!
RoofingPrincess Posted March 27, 2006 #3 Share Posted March 27, 2006 for example, I would not want one close to elevators and stairs due to traffic... folks coming and going at all hours, and not necessarily considerate or quiet at night... Actually, there are walls separating the elevator and stairwell lobbies from the cabin hallway. Noise is usually not a problem.
Alexis Posted March 27, 2006 #5 Share Posted March 27, 2006 This is a very popular question on here lately. ;) 8596 or 8594. Middle of the hump. Serenade is the sister ship and the same location. I can explain why we book it. We had 8596 on the Brilliance. An E2. Middle of the hump. Great cabin. It is not the balcony size that attracts all people to the hump cabins. The hump cabins with the larger balconies are the two, on the very beginning of the hump, on either side of it. For the view. We book the center of the hump, a normal size balcony. You can see from the front of the ship to the rear. The privacy. No one can see into your balcony because you are sticking out further from the ship than all the other cabins. The great location. Right near the elevators, but you hear no noise because you are behind a wall in your own little hallway. To be able to see straight down to the water because you are actually sticking out over it. There is no noise from the stairs, the Centrum or the elevators.(the elevators are on the other side of the ship) You are behind a wall in your own private hallway just for hump cabins.. __________________
Clarkk W Griswald Posted March 27, 2006 #6 Share Posted March 27, 2006 for example, I would not want one close to elevators and stairs due to traffic... folks coming and going at all hours, and not necessarily considerate or quiet at night... The only traffic is from the six cabins behind the wall separating you from the stairs and elevators. Probably the least amount of traffic of any hallway. Never heard any noise from the hallway the entire cruise!

NYCRUISR Posted March 27, 2006 #8 Share Posted March 27, 2006 If you want quiet and great views on Serenade, take 9256, a corner aft cabin. In my opinion, a great selection for quiet and view.

Probably the least amount of traffic of any hallway. Never heard any noise from the hallway the entire cruise! From the "been there, done that category", we've been on both the Serenade and Radiance and those cabins behind the wall, along with the aft cabins, are probably some of the quietest cabins on board! Virtually no through traffic. We would see the Captain all of the time though as this seemed to be his main route to his personal cabin at the front starboard of deck nine. puck645 Posted March 27, 2006 #10 Share Posted March 27, 2006 T-Cruise - We had a hump cabin, port side, 8088, on our Serenade Panama Canal transit last October. Great views, little or no noise. On one late night, when we were really quiet, we thought we could hear some music from the Atrium. Opened the cabin door to see if that was it, it was. Not much of a problem. Never heard the elevators. Our favorite. Barb & Jim
jst4fun715 Posted March 27, 2006 #11 Share Posted March 27, 2006 I have to agree with NYCRUISR. We have had 9256 on both the Serenade and the Radiance. Loved the view and the quiet. If you have an issue with walking to the back of the ship though, this might no be for you. We didn't care...helped work off some of the food we ate!

Clarkk W Griswald Posted March 27, 2006 #13 Share Posted March 27, 2006 Thanks everyone great info. Is there anything else you would advise or recommend on this ship ? Thanks, T- CRUISE You must eat the Seaview Cafe at least once. Great chicken wings and tenders, and onion rings. Never very crowded. Best kept secret of the ship!
