sign & sail lanyard question

I have read that you can get your sign & sail card punched at the casino & they give you a free lanyard. Is this true? Also, which is better? The one they give or one that you bought before the cruise? I have been looking all over for one but can't find one. I am hoping they do have them on the ship as I do not want to have to try & carry my card in my pocket.

I LOVE the one from the casino. It is a clip on one end with a stretchy cord and the circle on the other to attach your S&S card. It's really good when you don't have a pocket, because you can loop it around a beltloop or something else and you don't have to hand carry your card.

We didnt need to have the cards punched.. and you just have to pop your thumb underneath to remove the card to use it..

OH and the SO bought this one to attach to his belt buckle instead of having anything around his neck..

tweety1,

Yeah, it's true.

I guess it depends on how good the one you brought is as to which one is better. The casino lanyard is an Ocean Players Club lanyard that is yellow with a cord similar to coiled phone cord.

I bought a very similar style of beaded lanyard last summer on ebay for only 2.99!!! I only used it for one port day but it was handy! :)

I bought a pack of 4 beaded lanyards on ebay for about $5. There is a red, blue, green, and yellow one - also mixed with other shiney beads. That way I can color coordinate with my outfits!!! :p

I have a CC lanyard. It is very convenient to use because the bottom part detaches without having to take it off over your head (when buying drinks, leaving the ship...etc.) It also helps other CC's find me! I just stick it under my shirt when I go to dinner (since the bright blue doesn't really match any of my dinner clothes).

tweety1,

I found one at Walmart in the sporting goods dept. Supposed to hold hunting, fishing license etc.for $.77 Did not have a cord, but I used a thin leather shoestring. It has a flap, so it is semi-waterproof. You can put you're pic ID, charge card and cash in it also. Works very well. Happy cruising!
