Mikey3w11 Posted March 27, 2006 #1 Share Posted March 27, 2006 We are thinking about booking a 4 day Baja cruise on the Paradise. Is there anything fun to do in the ports? We are accustomed to the longer Caribbean itineraries. We thought that this one might be good to take the kids with us.
Curt Jerome Wild Posted March 27, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 27, 2006 Hey Mikey... First of all welcome to Cruise Critic. Secondly, do a search on "Paradise", "Catalina", "Ensenada", and also check the Ports of Call boards. You'll get way more specific info about ports and excursions there. Other than that... If you're in LA, California, or West Coast area, then these are good for kids as less traveling time. For kids, depends on how old they are, what time of year you are thinking of going, etc. In Catalina, fun for kids is to drive around the island in the rental golf carts. Lot's of views, up and down the mountains, and I saw a lot of kids just having a blast driving around (or should I say riding around while their parents drove in the golf carts). Ensenada, the "blow hole"? Just guessing for kids here, to see it spray up. Again, it depends on the kids and ages, and what they would like to do. Check Ports of Call boards again. Also, Put a new thread up, with a specific heading on something like... Paradise/Catalina/Ensenada/Kid Activites at Ports... You'll get more specific responses that way. PACURN Posted March 27, 2006 #3 Share Posted March 27, 2006 La Bufadora is the "blowhole". It's just outside of Ensenada and is quite a sight. There are wineries around the area. Shopping of course. Langusta (lobster) Peurto Nuevo style. Street tacos. MMMMM. And of course Corona. Of course you want to keep that away from the kids. IMHO I'd think about some other cruise for the kids, Ports with nice beaches. Caribbean or ?? My kids love going there. We take them on 7/8 day cruises each year and they do fine. They love to go where there are nice beachs. Ensenada is not the place for that.
