vince4 Posted March 27, 2006 #1 Share Posted March 27, 2006 Can anyone provide a review on these cabins and the benefit over regular inside or oceanview cabins? Thanks
trcori Posted March 27, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 27, 2006 We stayed in one two years ago on the California-Mexico cruise. Main advantage: Size. It's about 33% bigger than the regular oceanview cabin -- once you get past the bathroom & closets, there's the double bed, followed by a sliding partition that can close off the window end of the room, where there are two lower bunks and one pulldown bunk. (Makes a nice sitting area too.) I found the window not much use -- there is a small non-private deck area right outside the windows for the FO cabins, so during the day, the window may be blocked, or worse, people can peer into your cabins. At night, you can't see the water because the lighting on that deck obscures it (bummer for me, I like to look out the window and watch the water and sky). Something interesting I learned on this board -- if you don't care about the window, there are a couple of cabins on Mercury and Galaxy that are INSIDES the same big size as the FO cabins -- I managed to switch to one for our impending Galaxy cruise!!! -- TR
