Skerpikjøt in Faroe Isles

Recommended Posts

Not quite Iceland, but I don't see a dedicated forum section for Faroe.  We were in Torshavn yesterday and I really wanted to try Skerpikjøt, a wind dried mutton product along the lines of salami.

The first grocery store in town was out of it, and after a long walk to the rather nice SMS store outside the town center, they had it in large packages (about $80) but they would not prepare (slice) it for us. So we never got to try it.

Can anyone suggest the best way to try this for a future visit? Is it available in Iceland?
