Sunshine Tours - Rainforest/Beach- HELP!!

:eek: Please help us. We will be in San Juan pre-cruise and only have one full day, morning thru night, to grab a tour.

 

We went to the link provided previously thru the SJ tourism board and have received many responses from San Juan tour operators. We are torn about which tour to take.

 

Sunshine tours has a tour that is all day with a trip to the rainforest and then 2 hours at Luquillo Beach. We are also considering an all day tour on a catamaran to a private island to include snorkeling and lunch.

 

Anyone have any experience with these tours? Is it just a large a/c bus and no real time in the forest or on the beach?

 

We aren't cheap, but don't want to pay $50 per hour for a private tour and for someone to wait on us in the forest or on the beach.

 

Would happily welcome any/all recommendations on what is "best" to do.

The tour will probably be in a van. In either case, it's only 35 miles from SJ to El Yunque, another 10 to Luquillo Beach, and 30 back to SJ. If you really want flexibility you could always rent a car. A fun place for lunch near Luquillo is "Los Kioskos," a strip of very simple eating places where the locals go. (Calling them restaurants would be a stretch, but the food is very good.)
