scubagirrl Posted March 30, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 30, 2006 I was told that you could find "knock-off" purses in the straw market. Is this true? Yes, you'll find them throughout the market as well as outside vendors. Be aware that US customs will only allow 1 bag per person back into the states.. Bags go for about $40 or so. negotiable. lorasmom Posted March 31, 2006 #3 Share Posted March 31, 2006 Tons and tons... But they are not really "good" knockoffs - they won't fool anyone who knows what they should look like.
rockinrobin614 Posted April 15, 2006 #4 Share Posted April 15, 2006 My family found that the straw market was a waste of time. Everybody in there is selling stuff made in China or Japan at the same prices. Very hard to bargain with. When we got home, the stuff we bought shrank to nothing as well. Every vendor had the same stuff. Nothing was actually made from straw. The purses looked fake as well.
caribsun Posted April 17, 2006 #5 Share Posted April 17, 2006 We bypass the Straw Market because of low quality goods and do our shopping along Bay Street.:)
