Leaving in a few days for my first cruise!! VERY excited!!

As I'm going to put down cash for my S&S card, could you give me advice on how much you've all spent on average for a 7-day cruise? Including drinks, excursions, shopping, etc. I don't want to bring too little, but don't want to carry too much cash either.

Thanks!!

~J

WE didn't even think about how much we were spending, as we intended to go all out.We put $800 on our S & S card on our first cruise, that didn't count shopping in ports or the casino but had 3 shore excursions and a few purchases from the shops and pics . We did bring a bottle of rum and a bottle of whiskey to enjoy in our cabin, but took some of that home. We brought too much cash! Only spent about $400 in cash.

I just got back from the Paradise to W. Carib.

Just my daughter and I traveling, and my bill was $900. We did one event in the spa, and with the gratuities automatically billed, and two days of excursions, it didn't take long to add up. Basically, $140 tips, $265 spa, $100 pictures, $160 excursions, $100 gift shop, and about $250 in drinks - alcohol and soda combined. Keep in mind, that was for just two people.

Have fun!

Till we're in Paradise!

Our sign and sail card was around $650 for 5 people, however, we had bought drink coupons prior to sailing so there were only about 3 drinks on our card. We did our own excursions, so no expense there. We had about $130 in pictures, $50 in souveniers, $65 to the infirmary (DS got strep throat), and the rest was tips. It will really add up if ALL your drinks are on the S/S Plus excursions through the ship.

It depends on you. If you drink a lot, buy lot of souveniers, etc....

You figure the food is included, the shows are included, etc.........

We've spent as little as $300 or as high as $900 (Alaska) for the 2 of us on a 7 day cruise. It's usually around $500

We had friends that had $50 on theirs once (without tips) They are known for being thrifty.

The one does not drink & the other snuck his alcohol onboard.

After my $100 shareholder credit is applied, I usually come out at about $150 charged to my credit card. This takes into account about $40 gift shop purchases and the rest is drinks. I take about $500 cash for gambling and shore excursions and usually come back with $200 in cash.

Thank you all so much!

Being an avid over spender, I figured I'd be handing over much more money! I'm glad to see figures around 3-5 hundred.

I had to cut up my credit cards when I realized I was overspending, I hope I don't do that with the S & S card!

My girlfriend and I traveled to the Bahamas on a 7 day cruise last summer (had a GREAT time). On average, I spent about $100 a day. That included tips, drinks, shore excursions, pictures, bingo, wireless access, supper club (a MUST do), specialty coffee in the morning, etc..etc. Try not to take a frugal approach, as this is an amazing experience and you will miss out.
