Dolphin Encounter nassau, ferry schedule, need help!

Hello, we would like to book the Dolphin Encounter inependently, rather than through Carnival. Here is our perdiciment:

We are in nassau from 7am-2pm

The Dolphin Encounter is offered @ 8:30am, also 10:30am (these are the only times that could possibly work for us)

The encounter lasts 3-3 1/2 hours total. I have heard the paradise Island ferry goes 8:30 am, also 10:30 am.

So do we need to book through carnival? It doesn't sound like the times will work out. Any opinions are welcome.

thanks-Amanda

I think you might have your ferries mixed up.

The encounter times you are given should be for boarding the boat to Blue Lagoon Island to swim with the dolphins. (Dolphin Excursion Ferry). If you are taking the Ships tour, it' leaves from the downtown Dock, if you book independently, you leave from the Paradise Island Ferry Terminal on Paradise Island, and will need to take a cab (or the Harbour ferry) to get to this destination.

The ENTIRE tour takes 3.5 hours, from the dock to Blue Lagoon Island and back again. You're actually time with the Dolphins is less than 30 minutes.

The Harbour ferry (paradise Island Ferry Association) travels back and forth from downtown dock to Paradise Island (near the Terminal, but not AT the terminal) .. they run every 30 mintues from 9am - 5:30 pm daily,

I don't recommend taking the harbour ferry if you are in a rush or on a timeline.

You should be able to disembark and get to Paradise Island ferry terminal by 8:30am to catch your ferry to Blue Lagoon Island. Cab cost $4 pp and takes about 15 or 20 minutes depending on traffic.

You'll be back on Paradise Island by noon (ish) and you can either take a cab back, or catch the harbour ferry for $3pp.

Check with the dolphin encounter directly for YOUR departure time.
