Tendering or not?

I am going on the Carnival Glory on April 15th. Just got my documents. They indicated that the ship is a seasonal or occassional tender in this port. Has anybody had to tender from the Glory? When my TA called Carnival they told her we would be docking. But there are 6 ships in port that day. Just need to know because I booked a car thru Arthur at the dock and I want to get to the zipline early. Thanks for your help.

Looks like you call on St. Maarten on the 19th. I see different accounts of which ships will be in port, but the official St. Maarten Port Authority lists a total of 5:

Apr 19, 2006 Wednesday

Caribbean Princess

7:00 17:00 3,118 (Maximum capacity)

Explorer of the Seas

8:00 18:00 3,840

Zuiderdam

8:00 16:00 2,272

Carnival Glory

8:00 18:00 3,700

Carnival Victory

11:00 19:00 3,473

The pier will accomodate a maximum of five ships, depending on size. Since you're no greater than number four coming in, you're likely to dock.

The kicker is that a couple of sites show a Costa ship in that day, as well.

We have never seen more than four ships tied up at the pier. But then we have never been to SXM with 5 ships there at the same time.

How do they do it, the two big boys on one side and the 3 smaller ships on the other? That would be CP and Exp s the two long ones, I guess.
