A quick review of our March 26th Valor departure, Eastern route.

Flew down from Charlotte Nc same day as cruise left. Hired taxi for trip to the pier. Cost was $24.oo. We asked the driver to stop at a store so that we could buy some water and pepsi. He stopped at the Winn Dixie, and we were dropped off at 9:45 am. we checked our luggage with the porter with a tip of $1 a bag and were completeing our paper work by 10:30. we waited in lines for another 1/2 hr and were the 2nd couple to board the ship at 11:30.

FOOD: fish and chips , good

pizza, good

Deli just ok

Rosie's buffet really bad most of the time

Lincoln dining room good, but not a good selection in my opinion

soft ice cream good

I thought the breakfasts were varied and good, lots of choices.

ROOM: Plenty of room, very clean and kept clean twice a day. we had a balcony which was avg size, two chairs and a table. asked to have the refrig. opened and we took out all of their supplies and used it for our water pepsi and NA beer. NA beer we got in cans were put into plastic bags and put into our luggage upon arriving. we had two bottles of NA wine which we sent thru our carry on, no problem.

SHOWS: We saw 2 shows and they were good, however the cruise director really needs to find another job. he was soooo bad.

PORTS: Nassau we booked thru Carnival for the Dolphin encounter and it was the highlight of our trip. What we paid was worth every dollar.

St THOMAS: we booked thru Carnival for the St John Island tour. It was not what I expected, a very quick ride around one side of the island with very little time at any one place. Not worth the money. The skyride in St Thomas was very nice however a little pricey unless you plan on spending some time up there.

St MARRTEN: Our favorite. Beautiful water and beaches, and you can shop till you drop. The best prices for liquer, jewlery, and great Gouda cheese.

CASINO: We had heard so much about the tight slots, but we both won and lost and won and lost and came out ahead. 1 cent slots were great i could play for hrs on $10.00.

WAITERS: not very pesonable we had Ronald and he just did his job no more. we have been on the Glory and everyone that worked on that ship was so plesant, not the Valor.

Debarcation: We were off the ship within 40 minutes carring our own luggage, and on our way to the airport by 9am.

The ship was clean however there was a sewer smell on several floors.

We preferred the Glory to the Valor only because of the workers attitudes.

All in all I would rate the cruise a 7 out of 10

thanks for the review

i was just on the valor on feb 26th eastern as well. i agree with the smell of sewage. we noticed it on a number of occasions. we just found a different route to go through to get where we wanted. i agree also with the service as well. very poor in the washington restaurent as well they all looked tired and worn out around rosies. But it was still a great cruise. I thought the fish and chips were excellent as well the deli i thought was quite good and the sushi bar was to die for. The ports we did not get to go to nassau due to weather and missed the dolphin excursion:mad: it is what the kids looked for the most. st. maarten was absolutely gorgeous. i really cant wait to get back there again. till the next cruise:o

Can you tell me about the dolphin encounter...did you have to wear a certain type of sunscreen, or was any kind ok?
