Parking at Galveston for RCCL cruise

Has anyone used EZ Cruise parking, or other private parking at Galveston vs. using port parking. Appreciate any input.

Have used EZ and the port, was pleased with both.

Yes, have used it twice.

Very easy and smooth.

They allow luggage on the shuttle.

Booking online is convenient (and with discount.)

Only about 3 blocks from terminal.

Would use again.

Have used EZcruise about 4 times now and it is always good and a lot cheaper than the port.:)

How far in advane should I try to reserve a spot for ez parking? We cruise Nov 12th 2006. How much cheaper is it that port parking?

7 day port parking is $70 and EZcruise is $55 or $50 booked on line. I would think booking them a month ahead would be fine.:)

I sailed out of Galveston on March 19th. I was successful booking about 2 weeks out since this was a last minute cruise. I dropped the family and the luggage off at the terminal. The EZ cruise parking lot is only a couple blocks inland. There was a shuttle available but it was quicker just to walk back to the terminal and catch up with the family inside. I would say it is too far to walk loaded down with luggage but it is an easy walk for most people and quicker than waiting for a shuttle to load or return.

 

Our disembakation color was Yellow, which meant we had a 9:10 am call time. We were called at 9:12 am, got off the ship, located our luggage, checked through customs, I went to retrieve the van, loaded everyone up and we were on the road home by 9:40 am.

Based on our experience in January this is probably the fastest way to do it. Next time, this is how we will.

Oct 2004 stayed overnight at the Galvez - they allow you to park for FREE - 7 days and shuttle you back and forth from the port. Pretty great!

Also allows you to park your vehicle there for the duration of the cruise.
