Laflia Posted April 10, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 10, 2006 We are leaving on a cruise on the 27th of April to the Caribbean. We will visit San Juan, St Thomas, St Maarten, Antigua, St. Lucia, Barbados, Aruba and Curacao. Could somebody tell us where are the best places to snorkel? Especially beaches where we can walk in. Thank you, Laflia
captainron Posted April 10, 2006 #2 Share Posted April 10, 2006 Hi, In St Thomas, I'd recommend you head out to Coki Point. They do a lot of reef diving and snorkelling out there with a nice sandy entry from the beach. Ciao for now!!!
Laflia Posted April 11, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted April 11, 2006 Thank you for your reply. In the beaches do they have lockers or a place where we can leave our things while we snorkel? Thanks, Laflia
10X Posted April 11, 2006 #4 Share Posted April 11, 2006 In St. Lucia you can snorkel from the beach at Anse Chastenat and Anse Cochon. In Aruba you can snorkel from the beach at DePalm Island. In Curacao I'd recommend taking an excursion on a boat to Caracas Bay. The excursion description doesn't always mention the bay but it will mention a sunken tugboat. And of course, Coki Beach has already been mentioned for St. Thomas. You can see our photos of snorkeling from Anse Cochon and the over the sunken tugboat at: http://www.sunfield.sumgmug.com The photos are clearly marked as "St. Lucia Snorkeling" and "Curacao Snorkeling" so you won't have to wade through a lot of stuff you might not want to see to get to these. These photos were taken in February 2006. Denny
