Majesty of the Seas - Deck 3 or Deck 8?

I am planning a 3 Night Bahamas cruise in June with my two daughters (7 and 14). Just wondering which deck would be better. Deck 3 is a category G (more $$) and Deck 8 is category I. According to the website, all category G cabins have obstructed views. My question is, why is category G on Deck 3 more $$$ then category I on Deck 8? :confused:

Is there anything I should know regarding staterooms on Deck 8? I am a first time cruiser and would really like to get a good view room (according to my budget). Any suggestions would be appreciated. :o Thanks.

Its possible the lifeboats are right outside the windows of deck 8....not sure.

My opinion....I'd take deck 8 for sure. We were on deck 3 of Majesty back in October, 05 and we could smell sewage when we got off of the elevators.
