eadien7 Posted April 12, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 12, 2006 Looking for a gift for my mother since we're sailing right after Mothers day. Want it to be in the cabin when we sail. She doesn't drink and since we're in CC there will be flowers, fruit and champagne. Has anyone ordered the navigational map package: "The explorer in everyone will appreciate this navigational map signed by the Captain illustrating the specific itinerary completed and accompanied by a one-time use camera with flash, and Celebrity's logo'd sun visor (binoculars not included)." If so, is it nice? I've read that there are companies that will deliver, is this in the states only? We're sailing out of Dover on May 20th. Judi Kozar Posted April 12, 2006 #2 Share Posted April 12, 2006 One of the companies you may try for a great Bon Voyage gift if the cruise line isn't able to fulfill you needs is "Just Because of You". 1-800-882-9707 Shelley is very accommodating and can get almost anything you request. Call her and see if she can help you. Judi
chicagolass Posted April 13, 2006 #3 Share Posted April 13, 2006 Hi Eadien, In 1999 when we were on a Mediterranean cruise on the Renaissance Line, I received a lovely, large photo album with "CRUISE MEMORIES" imprinted on it. It also has a photo of the ship on the front cover. Inside the cover it has the itinerary with the "Ports of Call" printed and a map of the ship's route. Actually, It's more like a combination of a photo album plus scrapbook. During the cruise, I enjoyed following the itinerary and route closely. Besides our personal and ship photos, I bought postcards in each port and in the places we toured and put them in the album. While things were still fresh in my mind, I wrote notes in about the places and other special things that impressed us on land and sea. Plus, it has a page with a large pocket where I put a few of the dailies, menus, etc. as souvenirs. When I returned it was a fun way to show my family and friends all about the cruise. They were impressed. Today I treasure this album and all of the special memories it makes come alive again and that I won't forget during these senior years. In October 2006 when we board the Galaxy for another Mediterranean cruise. I intend to look in the ship's shop for one just like it and buy it for myself because it's one of the best, fun gifts I've ever received.
