Six hour layover w bags in St.Petersburg, Russia

Has anyone found a safe and convenient means to use the transfer time between disembarking from the river cruise boat and boarding the train in St. Petersburg? Two of us (early 60's) with luggage are concerned about hailing a cab at the pier and then sitting in the train station for six hours. Has anyone found a solution for this while transiting St. Petersburg? :confused: THANKS, in advance.

I don't go on my trip until June but I have booked an apartment (you could use a hotel). I went to GoToRussia.com and they arranged pickup, hostelry and transfer to the train station.

Thanks for your comments. Seems like a "long" lunch at a nice hotel might be our answer. Then a cab ride to the train station along with some people watching.:)
