Nautica Porthole vs. Picture Window

Hi Everyone;

Although we sailed back to back cruises on the Regatta in the Fall of 2003, we haven't booked again on Oceania. We are now looking forward to back to back itineraries in the Fall of 2007. Our question, is the porthole window in Category D that much different than the picture windows in C1/C2?

There is a considerable cost difference so we're very interested in comments from those of you who have an opinion!

Thanks.

In the infrequent times we've sailed in an "oceanview" cabin, we never felt a great differentiation between a porthole and a window, especially if you can save a significant amount by choosing the former.

You don't spend a lot of time gazing out the window. It will be on a lower deck, so if you're lucky you won't be just looking at the edge of the pier.

Most of the time, all any oceanview experience is good for is telling night from day.

A balcony cabin is entirely different thing, both in cost and in relative enjoyment.
