CubScott Posted April 17, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 17, 2006 I have read a lot of reviews and opionons about the Casinios, but do I have to use a Sign and Sail card ? May I just pay cash to play ? I thought this would have been cover by now. Thanks for any response. Scott
timmah Posted April 17, 2006 #2 Share Posted April 17, 2006 u can use your sail and sign card, but they charge 3% on the money you take out so its like a debit card that can be used at any of the slots. or u can use straight up cash for all of the slots and table games
CubScott Posted April 17, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted April 17, 2006 So I can just play with CASH $$$$$ to play. Thank you for your help. It sounded like everything had to be on the S&S card.

rubyfino Posted April 17, 2006 #6 Share Posted April 17, 2006 "Comp", maybe? ;) I'd like to know the answer to that one, too. Even a free drink now and then would be nice... Lisa "I'm goin' where the weather suits my clothes."
BrendaB1 Posted April 17, 2006 #7 Share Posted April 17, 2006 Some say there are a few comps from Ocean Players Club but I have never seen anything and I have been a member for several tears.
breenw Posted April 17, 2006 #8 Share Posted April 17, 2006 No comps. The ship casinos don't pay out like Vegas so don't expect that. You have to look at the casino as another form of "entertainment" because they have a captive audience. It's not like you can go down the street to another casino, so the slots are very, very tight. If you like table games, you'll have much better luck over the slots.
JJudy Posted April 17, 2006 #9 Share Posted April 17, 2006 You can use your sign & sail card when put in the machine to get point on the money that you play in the machine. When you reach 1000 point you get back $10 to play. I'm not sure on how the points are calculated, but it's a comp.

dbcruzin Posted April 17, 2006 #11 Share Posted April 17, 2006 Go online to Ocean Players Club and sign up. I have received a few comps by being a member. They are the company that runs all the casinos on Carnivals ships.

I think I got three or four drinks during the week. John
TrustNoOneKMC Posted April 17, 2006 #13 Share Posted April 17, 2006 Can you sign up for the Ocean Players Club online? I thought you had to be on the ship to sign up. Thank you.
luvz2run2000 Posted April 17, 2006 #14 Share Posted April 17, 2006 DH is a blackjack player. On our last cruise the casino staff sent bottles of wine to our table in the dining room. I don't know if it was to celebrate big wins or sympathy for big losses, and frankly I never ask.:)

MrLee Posted April 17, 2006 #17 Share Posted April 17, 2006 Great I got it now. I still can't believe I couldn't figure out this thing. By the way do they " Cop " on anything if your a Player ? Not your typical comps but on the Triumph I got a few drinks and a tote bag with a visor, deck of cards and a couple of other little things I can't remember. Apparently they're very limited on what they can give out but I was on a back-to-back and spent a LOT of time at the tables. On Ryndam (HAL) I got pretty much the same thing on a 14 day cruise except a lot more drinks.

I got lots of "stuff" the last 4 times I've cruised...wine sent to my table each night for dinner, OPC logo items, one use cameras, drinks, hot chocolate from the specialty shop, flower arrangements in cabin, fruit basket with wine in cabin, cabin decorations, carnival cookbooks, ship-on-a-stick for losing the slot tourny, decks of cards, key rings, golf shirts, t-shirts, and some other stuff including some W-2 G's for some big slot wins. I always email the host before I cruise.
cruisinqt Posted April 17, 2006 #19 Share Posted April 17, 2006 After using the casino players card on the Conquest, they said we had comps coming but couldn't get them until our next cruise. Our next cruise was on the Grand Princess which doesn't have a players card, but Princess is owned by Carnival. So we e-mailed the Ocean Players club online and asked about getting our comps that were due us while on the Grand Princess. Not only did each of us get over $40 cash back while on the Grand Princess, but there was a bottle of very good wine in our cabin waiting for us when we arrived at our cabin.;) That's not bad considering we are very low rollers on a limited budget. Plus, while on the Grand Princess, my husband hit $1500 on the first slot machine he walked up to. Who says you can't win in cruise ship casinos? Overall, we've done pretty good at cruise ship casinos, (knock on wood).:)
